Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-26
This policy explains how TheRPC uses cookies and similar technologies, what each category does, who the third parties are, and how you can change your choices at any time.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by the browser, used to remember preferences or recognise you on return visits. We use cookies and a few similar technologies — localStorage for your consent choice and theme, beacon scripts for analytics — collectively referred to as 'cookies' on this page.
What we use, by category
Strictly necessary — required for the site to function: theme preference, language preference, your consent decision, your sign-in session. These cannot be disabled. Analytics — to understand which pages are used and where users get stuck (Google Analytics 4, Sentry error reporting). Marketing — to measure the effectiveness of advertising and reach you with relevant messaging (Google Ads conversion tracking, delivered via Google Tag Manager). Analytics and Marketing categories are off by default and only load if you opt in.
Specific cookies and tags
Cloudflare Web Analytics — privacy-preserving, cookieless beacon used to count page views with no personal identifiers. Loads on every page; does not store cookies and does not require consent. Consent localStorage (therpc-cookie-consent) — stores your choice for 6 months under a version field so a future policy update can prompt you again. Theme cookie (app-theme) and language cookie (i18next) — remember your interface preferences. Google Analytics (gtag.js, _ga and _gid cookies) — only after Analytics consent. Sentry session-replay snapshots — only after Analytics consent; we never record password fields. Google Tag Manager (with Google Ads pixel inside) — only after Marketing consent.
Third parties
Cloudflare (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy) for edge hosting and analytics. Google (policies.google.com/privacy) for GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Ads. Sentry (sentry.io/privacy) for error monitoring. Each provider receives only what is needed for its specific purpose.
How long cookies last
Your consent record is stored for 6 months, then we re-ask. Theme and language preferences are stored until you clear them. Google Analytics cookies expire after 13 months by default. Marketing cookies set by Google Ads typically last up to 24 months. Cloudflare Web Analytics writes no cookies.
Withdrawing or changing consent
You can change your choices at any time using the 'Cookie settings' link in the footer or the button above. Revoking consent stops further data collection by the affected category immediately; tags that were already loaded enter a 'denied' state via Google Consent Mode v2 and stop sending data.
Changes to this policy
Material changes are announced by email to active accounts and shown on this page. When the categories, third parties, or retention periods change, we bump the policy version and the banner appears again so you can review.
